What's included?

You’ll be insured against rental vehicle damages due to:

• Collision, theft, vandalism, windstorm, fire, hail, flood or any cause not in your control while the vehicle is in your possession.
• Loss of use charges as a result of an accident that you’re required to pay the rental company.

 

Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI or LIS)

Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI or LIS) provides coverage for damages or injuries you may cause to another person or their property while operating a rental vehicle. The liability coverage provided by the rental car company may be the state minimum requirement which can be $0. SLI may include significantly more coverage than your personal or business policies. Coverage is valid for rentals in the United States, except rentals that commenced in New York. You are permitted to drive in Canada if the rental was picked up in the United States.The policy provides you with:

• Up to of supplemental auto liability coverage;
• Coverage for damage or injuries you cause to another person or their property. It is subject to the same conditions and limitations as the rental agreement and any other underlying insurance.

Collision Damage Protection

Our Collision Damage Protection (CDP) is equivalent to CDW from the rental companies.

• You are covered up to $50,000 with a $0 deductible.
• CDP is primary coverage so it won't impact your personal auto premium (for covered losses up to $50,000s).
• Damage related charges and administration costs are reimbursed once the claim is approved.
• Cancel anytime before pickup.
• Covered up to the policy limit for each individual incident.
• Additional drivers on the rental agreement are automatically covered.
• Covers types of damage that the rental companies exclude, especially climate-related damage such as ice, hail, water/floods, snow, sand, wind, and more.
• Covers damages caused by road conditions including ice, ash, sand and gravel damage.
• Covers damages caused by collisions with animals.
• Cover damages caused by collisions with animals such as elk, moose or deer (as long as these types of accidents don’t go against the rental agreement).
• With RentalCover you are also subject to the terms of your rental agreement.

With Collision Damage Insurance...

1. Notify Valetrip of the damage immediately. If the costs are likely to exceed $3,000, please notify Rental Cover via claim form.

1. Go to rentalcover.com/claim to report all incidents.

1. Submit finalized invoices, photos, all written communications and other documents as requested. We usually resolve damage claims directly with the rental company (learn more).
